Out with the old, in with the new.
Both of last year’s Grand Finalists suffered convincing 3-0 defeats on the weekend, against sides who finished outside of the finals placings in 2017. Castle Hill United beat Kenthurst to push the reigning champs out of the top four. Whilst Kellyville Kolts knocked off previously undefeated table toppers Winston Hills, to take up the mantle themselves.
The results set up a mouth-watering clash in round 8, where the Kolts will host United in a 1st vs 3rd tie that few may have predicted at the start of the year; less perhaps the teams themselves.
Competition newcomers Norwest also continue to make stellar progress, with a 2-0 win against Glenhaven keeping them within a win of the top four. They play bottom placed Coptic in round 8, and given Kenthurst (5th) and Baulkham Hills (4th) are set to do battle, a win for Norwest will see them rise another spot in the ladder.
