Following another record-breaking Winter and Summer football season in 2024 , we’re looking forward for what’s to come in 2025. Following overall growth of 10% and an increase in female participation by 24%, and following consultation with our Clubs and members, some additions and amendments to our competitions have been, effective in the 2025 season.
Women’s Premier League and U21/1
As we head into our third season of the joint Women’s Premier League (WPL) competition with Blacktown District Soccer Football Association (BDSFA) and Granville District Soccer Football Association (GDSFA), growth within the senior women’s space sees the establishment of a joint U21/1 Women’s competition. This competition will feature teams from all three Associations with plans for the development into a unified competition.
The success of the WPL speaks for itself and the quality of the football across the area is therefore evident. We’re looking forward to see what’s in store in the inaugural season of the U21/1 women’s competition in 2025.
Men’s Premier League
To ensure a higher level of participation and to develop the league over the next 3-5 years, changes to the competition have been made to ensure a feasible and quality competition for all involved.
Squad formations are encouraged however single teams can also be nominated. In addition, interchange will be permitted in the first grade competition as well as an increase in the number (18) of players permitted on a match sheet.
