With the 2025 FNSW Association Youth League (AYL) season drawing to a close, we can now reflect on what was a record-breaking season for the program.
Our 13’s, 14’s, 15’s, 16’s and 18’s teams all finished in the top 3, with our 14’s and 15’s teams securing the minor premiership. It was the first time in our history that all Hills Football teams were playing finals football.
Further, we must congratulate our U15’s team for doing the double, winning the minor premiership and then going on to win the Grand Final, again the first grand final win in Hills Football history! Congratulations to James Jansons-Edwards our 15’s coach and the squad for an outstanding season.
With this being the last Season of the FNSW AYL program, we want to say a massive thank you to the players, coaches, parents and volunteers for their hard work and dedication throughout the years – without you the program wouldn’t be the success that it is.
A big testament to this success is the alignment with Hills United, and the ongoing collaboration of the two organisations, providing more player development and pathway opportunities for Footballers within the Hills.
Though we are dissapointed that the FNSW AYL Program won’t be continuing, it has been great to see the development of the Program as demonstrated by the table below. Additionally to point out, is the consistency of total numbers of players who have come from a HFI Member Club – which was 75% in the 2025 Season. A major focal point of what made the AYL Program what it is.
Hills Football is committed to ensuring that there is a continued link between community and representative football, and to continually provide Player Pathway Opportunities for Hills Footballers we are excited to see the expansion of the Development Squads Program for 2026.

Thank you once again to everyone who has been part of this journey, the future is bright and we can’t wait to see where it leads.
