Strengthening the Hills Football Pathway: Organisational Update and Head of Football Appointment

Following the signing of the Deed of Agreement between Hills Football Inc. (HFI) and Hills United FC (HUFC) in 2020, both organisations have continued to work collaboratively to deliver a successful and inclusive football pathway for the Hills community from grassroots to elite representative levels.

Over the past few years, HFI and HUFC have built a strong partnership, both on and off the field, focused on developing the game and ensuring long-term benefits for the wider football community.

At the 2025 HFI Annual General Meeting (AGM), proposed amendments to the HFI Constitution were endorsed and approved by member Clubs, further formalising the relationship between the two organisations. This included Constitutional amendments and a structural alignment of HFI’s entity status, transitioning from an Incorporated Association to a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG), reinforcing our long-term governance and sustainability. These changes mark another important step toward ensuring a sustainable and united approach to football development in the region.

A key highlight of this strengthened partnership was the successful joint submission to The Hills Shire Council in 2025, resulting in HFI and HUFC being granted responsibility to manage, operate, and deliver significant upgrades to the future ‘Hills Home of Football’, a centre of excellence facility located at Caddies Creek – Stage 2 in Beaumont Hills. As part of this new chapter and transformative time, both HFI and HUFC are pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Eagar as Head of Football. This role works across both organisations and will be central to shaping the technical direction of football in the Hills. Jason will work closely with all HFI’s member clubs to improve technical development and elevate football standards across the region, will lead all technical staff and oversee the representative and development pathways within the Hills.

Jason joins us from Northern Suburbs Football Association (NSFA) where he’s spent more than a decade developing their football pathway. Although Jason spent a significant time at NSFA, he spent a part of his playing career in the 90’s playing for Hills United FC during a time where their matches were played out of Fred Caterson Reserve. This appointment reflects a shared commitment to delivering a unified approach to football best practice in the Hills.

Jason will commence in his role with Hills Football on the 8th of September.
