Students from Hills Grammar and the wider football network received their badge in coach education, as Hills Football deliver their first Game Training Coaching Certificate for the year.
Fifteen enthusiastic individuals have committed to some cold Wednesday evenings at the Hills Grammar School to complete their Game Training Coaching Certificate.
Participants on the course have had the opportunity to be mentored by Football Development Manager Zac Ribeiro alongside B-Licence holder Angelo Maralit. Angelo commented, “It has been great to team up with Zac and the Hills Football association to deliver the Game Training Course, being a local in the Hills myself I saw this as a great opportunity to share my knowledge and experience in football with others which I enjoy doing. I look forward to presenting more courses in the future with Hills Football as I continue to complete my presenter’s license”.
The course was then thrown at the coaches as they were split into four working groups and asked to present sessions, getting feedback and support from both Zac and Angelo. Each group shared a practice-based of the four elements which construct a game training session for players aged 13 and above. The sections of a game training session consist of a passing practice, positioning game, game training, and training game.
Ribeiro went on to mention, “It was great to see all participants on the course present their part, which is not always an easy task. Coaches have started to take ideas from the course and bring them to life, which has shown me a sense of leaning and teaching outcomes from the course. It has also been great to have Angelo on the course share his coaching philosophy that the coaches have taken a lot from.
Special thanks to Geoff Johnson for promoting the course and the Hills Grammar School for hosting which has been a great facility and learning place for our coaches.
