Premier League – Round 5 Review
Kenthurst lose to rising Norwest, whilst Sydney North West slump continues.
Norwest have caused an upset, defeating last year’s PL1 winners Kenthurst 2-1 on the weekend. The win puts them within touching distance of the top four, an optimistic place given they’ve played four of the top five sides.
The only side they have played below them on the table is last year’s semi-finalists Sydney North West, who continued with their slow start to 2018 on Saturday. The Goats went down 2-0 to table toppers Winston Hills, despite having their fair share of possession.
There was also a first win to PL1 newcomers North Rocks who put six past Glenhaven; double the amount they’ve managed in the season up to then. The win should give them confidence to bag some points as they travel to mid-table side Baulkham Hills this coming weekend.
Youth Premier League – Round 5 Review
The Youth Premier League table is starting to take shape with Baulkham Hills dropping points in a 1-1 draw with North Rocks on Saturday. The stalemate should bolster the confidence of the latter given it leaves them within smelling distance of the top four.
Norwest did enough to remain top with a 1-0 win over Castle Hill Utd Blue, whose fellow clubmen in Castle Hill United Red were on the right side of an 8 goal thriller against Glenhaven. United Red sit second, however will like their prospects of a first place finish given their enormous goal difference at such an early stage of the competition.
