This weekend, the Hills Football Association proudly joins associations and clubs across Australia in supporting Pankind’s Play in Purple campaign, a nationwide initiative raising awareness and vital funds for pancreatic cancer research and support.
Now in its 11th year, Play in Purple has united hundreds of sporting clubs and thousands of players who take to the field wearing purple socks to show their support for those impacted by one of Australia’s toughest common cancers. Since the campaign began, participating clubs have helped raise more than $900,000, with funds going towards life-changing research, patient support services, and advocacy.
Pancreatic cancer has one of the lowest survival rates of all major cancers, making awareness and research more important than ever. Through a simple act of swapping club socks for purple socks, footballers of all ages can help start conversations, honour loved ones and demonstrate the power of community coming together for an important cause.
Football has always been about more than the result on the scoreboard. Our game brings people together, strengthens communities, and provides an opportunity to support causes that make a genuine difference.
