HF DEVELOPMENT 2023 Year in Review

Preparing for 2024 Hills Football Development has taken an opportunity to reflect on 2023 and the momentous year that it was.

For Hills Football, 2023 had seen a number of new records in all HF Development Programs being set including but not limited to registered participants, retention rates, and player pathway progressions.


HF Development Academy

Across 2023, the Hills Football Development Academy has seen a record of over 945 participants part of the Program over the calendar year, a staggering 63.50% increase from 2022. The Program continues to build on its success over the past few years, with an increasing demand for the Academy now leading to three separate nights where the Program is held.

Furthermore, we are super proud that our Female numbers within the HF Development Academy continues to grow. Compared to 100 participants in 2022, we saw a total of 205 Females in 2023. Capitalising on the success of the Female FIFA World Cup and Matilda’s impact on grassroots football within the country.

HF Development Little Legends

Throughout 2023, the Hills Football Development Little Legends Program saw 262 participants as part of the program over the course of the year. This includes participants involved in HFI Private sessions, Member Club sessions and Preschool Sessions. 

Little Legends was delivered at HFI Member Clubs Kenthurst & District FC and Bella Vista FC during the 2023 Winter Football Season.  

Throughout the course of the year, 16 participants were enrolled in all 4 terms of Little Legends at Hills Football. These players include:

Across 2023, sessions were conducted at Preschools – Kidz Place, NuKids and Sun Valley Preschool, as well as Terms 2 & 3 at The Hills Grammar School ECEC. 

Hills Football Development looks forward to the continued growth of HF Development Little Legends in 2024, helping preschool-aged participants to learn the fundamentals of football in a fun and engaging environment! 




HF Development Club Player Program

The Hills Football Development Club Player Program saw significant growth in 2023. A new high of HFI Member Clubs Program allowed HF Development to support our member clubs in reaching their Football Development objectives in line with Player, Coach, and Club Development. HFI Member Clubs involved in the Program include – returning Glenhaven FC, Hills Spirit, Hills Pumas & North Rocks, and the addition of Clubs – Castle Hill United, Kenthurst & District FC & Hills Knights.

The HF Development CPP allowed his Football to reach over 646 Grassroots footballers, which in turn positively benefited Hills Football in achieving its strategic objectives of delivering the best possible experience of football with a focus on player engagement and player development.

Hills Football Development looks forward to the continued growth of the HF Development Club Player Program, reaching more grassroots footballers in the Hills District and raising the quality of football and player engagement within the Community.




HF Development Holiday Clinics

Delivered by Hills United Football Club, 2023 saw three successful Holiday Clinics at Bella Vista Public School. Under the guidance of Hills Football and Hills United Football Club Technical Department and Qualified Coaches, players developed their skills in a fun and engaging environment and implemented these skills in game-based situations.

Hills Football Development looks forward to the continued growth of HF Development Holiday Clinics, creating a fun football activity for players of all abilities throughout the Hills Community.

2023 has seen a new high of Participants involved in the HF Development Academy progressing into the Hills Football & Hills United Player Pathway Programs. A new high of 22 participants have been selected as part of these Programs for the 2024 Winter Football Season and in doing so, taking the next step in their Football Development Journey.
