Hills Football Coach Education 2025 Review: Transforming Coaching in the Hills

The 2025 season has been a landmark year for Coach Education across Hills Football, marked by unprecedented growth, deeper club engagement, and a renewed focus on upskilling coaches at every level of our game.

Hills Football is proud to report 188 total coach registrations across our education programs this year — a remarkable rise from 75 registrations in 2024. This increase reflects the growing commitment from our clubs, coaches and community to invest in high-quality development opportunities for our players.

20 Courses Delivered – Four Times More Than 2024

In 2025, Hills Football delivered 20 accredited coaching courses, up from just 5 courses the previous year.
This expansion has enabled us to:

  • Support more coaches in their journeys
  • Ensure every club can access development opportunities locally
  • Build stronger alignment between community coaching and our Hills Football Player & Coach Development frameworks

This increased access has already lifted the standard of coaching across the Hills District.

Foundation of Football Courses Free in 2026

As part of Hills Football’s ongoing investment into coach education, Hills Football is excited to announce that all registered Coaches within U8’s-U18’s age groups in 2026 will be eligible to complete the Foundation of Football course free of charge.

This initiative forms part of our long-term strategy to raise development standards across the Association and provide every coach—new or experienced—with the opportunity to build strong coaching fundamentals without financial barriers.

More information on the scholarship process and eligibility has been shared directly with Member Clubs, so please reach out directly to your Club for more information.

C Diploma Returns to the Hills

We are also proud to confirm that Hills Football will host an AFC/FA C Diploma in 2026 — the first time since 2023.

Bringing the C Diploma back to the Hills provides an invaluable opportunity for ambitious coaches looking to progress toward performance and advanced youth coaching pathways. Hosting the C Diploma locally also reflects FA’s confidence in the growth and quality of our coach development environment.
