Castle Hill United claim the 2023 Womens Hills Cup

Castle Hill United FC have defeated Winston Hills FC 2-0 in the Women’s Hills Cup Grand Final played at Bella Vista Public School last night. This match saw the return of the Hills Cup competition following a 3 year hiatus for the last three years due to the impacts of COVID-19 and wet weather. Winston Hills FC had taken out the title for the first three years (2017, 2018 and 2019) and held up a solid fight against their rivals.

Both teams participate in the joint Women’s Premier League competition during the normal winter season and displayed some exciting football for a large group of spectators and for those watching at home via the live stream.

Goals were scored by Castle Hill United’s Paige Williamson and Claire Watt, who also took out the Player of the Match award selected by the Referees. The experienced appointed referees allocated to the match included Andy Castellano (Referee), Arnav Watts (Assistant Referee), Amelia Dimech (Assistant Referee) and Alex Zastavnikovic (4th Official).
