The 2022 Season is just around the corner, and we at HFI can’t wait to have everyone back on the pitches for a fun, safe and exciting season ahead. Once again, we will have programs and competitions for from U6’s to Masters / Walking Football and everything in between including the return of our HFI Men’s and Women’s Premier Leagues with our Match of the Rounds’ livestreamed each week, our All Abilities programs, Walking Football, MiniRoos and MiniTilda’s offerings, and some new and exciting competition initiatives for the season ahead.
Last late year our Competitions Committee, consisting of HFI Board and Staff and representatives from our Member Clubs meet to discuss, put forth recommendations for implementation for the 2022 season; these include:
- Female Competition Age Grades (Juniors & Youth) – Female age grades to be defined as U9, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, Youth Girls (16-18).
- Alteration of the O35W age category to O30’s Women in the aim of facilitating and a more equitable distribution of technical ability and division. This is also in line with neighbouring associations and FNSW State Cup and Champions of Champions.
- O35M Friday Competitions – aiming to facilitate x2 Divisions
- Walking Football – HFI to facilitate competition during the 2022 Seasons – Club v Club (Sundays mornings).
- 6-Team Finals Series (competition teams) – 6 Team Finals Series for competitions consisting of 8 or more teams. Men’s and Womens’ Premier Leagues to remain 4 Team Finals Series.
- Provision of 20 Round MiniRoos and MiniTildas season – Home and Away fixtures up until the second last weekend of Season for non-competitive teams in the aim of providing more football opportunities.
