United We Stand: The Story of Kellyville United FC

United We Stand! That is the motto and driving force of Kellyville United, which, for the past 11 years, has progressed and striven for excellence. The club, with over 700 members, is ensuring that the family-community club aspect is not lost as it continues to grow in stature and importance in the region.

Founded in 2015 as one of the founding member clubs of the Hills Football Association. Kellyville United was founded to help support and grow the level of participants in the region, offer something different to the already established clubs and build a vibrant and inclusive community, united by a shared passion for the game.

“We’re a real family club, everyone is kind of cared for and that we’re a mid-sized club, so we’re not like a big club where if you come, you’re going to be lost,” Kellyville United President Craig Price.

“United we stand means that we stand together and we’re united in our goal of keeping a positive atmosphere.”

Since the emergence of the Covid 19 pandemic, the rise of the women’s footballing department at United has been one of the keys to their sustainable growth. United’s first-ever women’s team was established over five years ago by their current President, Craig Price.

“My middle daughter was playing under 12 and was still playing in a mixed comp. We didn’t have girls’ teams at that stage. I then said, come on, let’s try and get a girls’ team together, and we started with three.”

The female program has grown exponentially, with the club now being able to field a Women’s Premier League side, an All Age division one side and multiple junior sides. They have also tasted a great degree of success in the women’s sector.

“When they were under 13, they were highly successful. They won Champions of Champions and the following year they also won the State Cup,” Price said.

The club’s current home of Caddies Creek, has been an important development for the Kellyville club. Their initial home of Kellyville Memorial Park has since been taken over by the Parramatta Eels and their high-performance centre. Their home at Caddies Creek has been a great resource for United, which has recently improved its match-day and ground facilities.

“I think our facilities are fantastic. We have plans, and we’re looking to try and develop the clubhouse a bit more. I think our fields are probably, if not the best, but one of the best in the whole district.”
