Hills Football All Abilities Gala Day Brings the Community Together

On Sunday the 27th of July Hills Football ran an All Abilities Gala Day at Hills Centenary Park where five clubs came together to play each other in fun and safe environment for their All Abilities Programs.

All Abilities Football is all about inclusion, allowing everyone to have the opportunity to experience the joy that football brings. On the field participants build skills and confidence while improving their fitness and overall health. All Abilities Football does not only have benefits for players on the field but also have benefits for off the field such as building friendships and teamwork as well as creating a sense of belonging.

Gala Days like these are important for All Abilities Programs as it is not often they get to play against other clubs which also helps reinforce the benefits of All Abilities Football.

The five clubs in attendance were:

  • Castle Hill United
  • Hills Knights
  • North West Sydney Football Pink Program
  • St Ives Football Club
  • West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook FC

Players across multiple ages and abilities there was smiles on players faces and enjoyment was had by all. Highlighting the importance of these days for All Abilities Programs.

Some of the highlights of the day was the all girls match between Castle Hill United and North West Sydney Football Pink Program, as well as the combined game of Hills Knights, Castle Hill United, West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook and St Ives Football Club which resulted in an exciting penalty shootout at the end.

Overall the day was a success and highlighted the importance of Gala days and collaboration between All Abilities Programs and Hills Football look forward to more days like these.
