Hills Football is once again pleased to announce the NSW Governments 2023 Community Building Partnership Program has approved 11 fully monitored publicly accessible defibrillator packages that will be installed at various football grounds within our association boundaries. This is on the back of 13 being installed on the back of the 2022 program taking the association to 24 Publicly Accessible Defibrillators.
These lifesaving devices will be installed by Staying Alive Health, who are committed to addressing the urgent need for increased public accessibility and awareness of AEDs as well as addressing the lack of monitoring, for these lifesaving devices in Australia.
The CEO and founder of Staying Alive Health is Brooke Collins OAM, and as an ex-Councillor with Hills Shire Council and ex-President of one of NSW’s largest Little Athletics clubs understands the need for publicly accessible and monitored AEDs for the community. After an emergency where defibrillators were not working, and not accessible Brooke and his team needed to find a solution which came in the form of cellular technology.
Staying Alive Health’s solution uses cellular technology to remotely monitor this life-saving system. Operational status is continuously checked and ensured, with any maintenance needs being automatically transmitted to those who need to know.
Just recently there was a Cardiac Arrest during a training session at Ted Horwood and fortunately a Publicly Available AED was in visible distance and was used helping save this person’s life highlighting the benefit of Publicly Available AEDs.
