Preparing for 2023 Hills Football Development has taken an opportunity to reflect on 2022 and the momentous inaugural year that it was.
For Hills Football, 2022 had seen a number of new records in all HF Development Programs being set including but not limited to registered participants, retention rates, and player pathway progressions.
HF Development Academy
Across 2022, the Hills Football Development Academy has seen over 578 participants part of the Program over the calendar year. This is the largest in Hills Football’s History, with an additional record of 100 females involved in the Program.

For the first time in the Academy’s 4 year history, Hills Football Development delivered a Friday Night session at The Hills Grammar School. Each term, HF Development has seen this session grow in strength and numbers, with a total of 53 participants registered in Term 4.
Demonstrating the participant’s desire for year-round football Term 4 of the HF Development Academy at Bella Vista Public School hit a new record of 269 participants registered in the Program.
Hills Football Development looks forward to the continued growth of the HF Development Academy, allowing access to grassroots footballers all over the Hills District to receive additional coaching for an affordable price.
HF Development Little Legends
Across 2022, the Hills Football Development Little Legends Program saw over 389 participants as part of the Program over the calendar year. This includes participants involved in HFI Private sessions, Member Club sessions, and Preschool Sessions.
For the first time in the Little Legends Program’s history, the Program was delivered at HFI Member Clubs Kenthurst & District FC and Winston Hills FC during the 2022 Winter Football Season.
Over the calendar year, 10 participants were enrolled in all 4 terms of Little Legends. These players include:

Across 2022, sessions were conducted at Preschools – Kidz Place and Sun Valley Preschool, including Terms 2 & 3 at The Hills Grammar School ECEC.
Hills Football Development looks forward to the continued growth of HF Development Little Legends, allowing access to preschool-aged participants to learn the fundamentals of football in a fun and engaging environment!
HF Development Club Player Program
Although heavily interrupted by the rain, 2022 saw another step forward for the HF Development Club Player Program during the Winter Football Season with a new high of four HFI Member Clubs involved in the Program. HFI Member Clubs Glenhaven FC, Hills Spirit FC & Hills Pumas all continuing the program this year with an addition of North Rocks SFC. All four HFI Member Clubs received access to HFI experienced and qualified coaches, which successfully saw participants strengthen and develop in engagement and technical ability.
Across the 2022 Winter Football Season, The Club Player Program gave volunteer coaches access to mentoring from the HFI Technical Department, which saw 20+ Volunteer Coaches receive Grassroots Coaching Certificates for their efforts throughout the duration of the Program.
Hills Football Development looks forward to the continued growth of the HF Development Club Player Program, reaching more grassroots footballers in the Hills District and raising the quality of football and player engagement within the Community.
HF Development Holiday Clinics
Delivered by Hills United Football Club, 2022 saw three successful Holiday Clinics at Bella Vista Public School and Bernie Mullane. Under the guidance of Hills Football and Hills United Football Club Technical Department and Qualified Coaches, players developed their skills in a fun and engaging environment and implemented these skills in game-based situations.
Hills Football Development looks forward to the continued growth of HF Development Holiday Clinics, creating a fun football activity for players of all abilities throughout the Hills Community.

2022 has seen a new high of Participants involved in the HF Development Academy & Hills United Principles Pathway Program progressing into the Elite Pathway Programs. A new high of 21 participants have been selected as part of these Programs for the 2023 Winter Football Season and in doing so, taking the next step in their Football Development Journey.
