Player Development Program

What is it?

The Hills Football Development Program (HFDP) is an initiative to give access to all Hills Footballers aged between 7 and 12 – male and female – the chance to develop their skills at an affordable rate. The program is for players of all ability, skill level and division. This model is designed to increase participation and time on the ball, with an age group focus to ensure the best possible development outcomes. Participating players could be identified for future talent identification programs and opening pathways at various levels.

All coaching staff are fully qualified under the Football Federation Australia (FFA) National curriculum guidelines, whilst the program itself is based on the FFA national curriculum methodology of the Skill Acquisition training phase. The program includes the principles of play in both attack and defence, while actioning the four core skills of first touch, striking the ball, running with the ball, and 1 v 1. Ensuring our footballers are taught the national footballing curriculum, by coaches qualified by the same governing body, guarantee’s a high quality program that is in unison with the country’s development goals.
