On Wednesday evening the 3rd of July Hills Football delivered their first Club Coach Coordinator workshop for 2019, hitting the ground running with representatives from 11 clubs across the association attending the night.
The Club Coach Coordinator (CCC) Program is an initiative from Football Federation Australia (FFA) which is designed to empower local community football clubs to take control over coach development within their own environment. Clubs are to nominate a CCC who is then the go-to person for all things coach development and the key contact at the club.
Over time Hills Footballs technical team will upskill and train these CCC’s to become coach developers which will lead to on the ground mentoring and support for community coaches. The aim of the program is to address retention rates of players and coaches through improving the quality of coaching and the club culture.
The night was led by Football Development Manager Zac Ribeiro who was joined by Football NSW Game Development Officer Kevin Guardado and Les Bee the National Community Coach Development Manager from FFA who both supported the night. Ribeiro mentioned “It was awesome to have our first workshop with a great turn out, it shows the passion in our association for coach development that I think we should be proud of. It was interesting to see that all club representatives where likeminded people all looking to make our football product the best it can be and we all agreed that it starts with the coach”. The night was in full swing with Zac highlighting what the CCC program is, how it can be delivered and showcased its benefits when delivered in other associations across the state.
The evening then saw CCC’s from across the association split into working groups to share experiences, initiatives and start to create action plans for the rest of this season and start of next season. This brought a great opportunity for Les (FFA Community Coach Education Manager) and Kevin (Football NSW Game Development Officer) the opportunity to float around the groups sharing experiences and knowledge on the program.
The night concluded with a networking session where questions were asked and discussed as a group. Hills Football will aim to host another workshop in the coming weeks with a practical component to where the program will come to life so that all CCC’s are capable and have the capacity to take back to their clubs and begin implementing the program to their coaches.
Overall the night was a huge success for the association as Hills Football strives to create the best player and coach experience for our local community football clubs.
A special thank you to those clubs in attendance and part of the CCC program.
