Club Player Program: A Winter Season to Remember
Supporting Member Clubs to create an environment that promotes a life-long love for the game.
Another Winter Season is in the books for the HF Development Club Player Program. Across the Hills District, hundreds of grassroots footballers spent the season training with qualified, experienced coaches at their own club — and the Program continues to grow, providing more opportunities and support for HFL Member Clubs each year.
What is the Club Player Program?
The Club Player Program gives HFL member clubs access to experienced, qualified coaching staff, working alongside club committees and volunteers to lift the technical foundation — and the enjoyment — of football in the community.
Following the Football Australia game-based learning methodology, sessions are fun and designed to maximise time on the ball and the development of key principles in line with The Hills Way. Every session is built around four core skills: First Touch, Running with the Ball, Striking the Ball and 1v1.
There’s a key focus on Discovery Phase and Skill Acquisition Phase players and coaches, laying the foundation for retention and development through an environment that promotes a life-long love for the game.
OPTION 1
Coach the Coach Program
HFL Qualified Coach Education Developers mentor Club Coaches on the ground during weekly training, with volunteers finishing the Program with a Grassroots Coaching Certificate.
OPTION 2
Coach the Player Program
HFL Qualified Coaching Staff coach teams directly during weekly training sessions, bringing all the equipment and expertise needed.
As a not-for-profit, every dollar raised goes straight back into Hills Football — facilities, coach and player development, and keeping fees down for the community. Season on season, the Program keeps evolving to give HFL Member Clubs even greater access to development opportunities and support.
