A club 20 years young and striving to build long-lasting connections across their community across multiple sport codes. The Rouse Hill Rams are building one of the strongest community brands in the association whilst expanding their offerings to accommodate and welcome everyone into their community via football.
“It’s the connection we’ve made with so many people and friendships that we’ve made over the time [that make the club special],” a Rouse Hill Rams spokesperson said.
“It’s a family-friendly environment that has built friendships here that will last a lifetime.”
Founded in 2006, the Rouse Hill Rams are one of the largest clubs in the region and offer their community to play in the Rouse Hill colours all year round. The Rouse Hill Rams Sport Club is the larger community entity that the football club sits under. The sports club also allows their players to play other sports such as cricket, softball, and netball all under the same club.
This unique setup allows the football club to collaborate with the other sporting branches to reach new and potential players, grow community connection with the club, and improve the operating ability of all the clubs.
“We have an all-sports sort of community. We have a lot of kids and adults sort of that play for numerous Rams entities, whether it be netball, football, etc.”
The reality is, especially over the last couple of years, it’s getting closer and closer (the connection between the different sport code entities), and it works,” the spokesperson said.
“We both help each other out. We both promote each other’s codes. We realised we’re not in competition with each other, especially the summer versus winter sports.”
“There are many of our women’s programs that play netball on Saturday and football on Sunday,” the spokesperson added.
The Rams have placed a larger emphasis on growing the number of opportunities they can offer to their members. From growing to one of the largest female football clubs in the association to offering a now multi-year Football 4 All Program, the club is ensuring everyone can participate both on and off the field.
“We have a good focus on women’s football.”
“We have a huge focus on the Football 4 All program. We have 14 participants in that group, which has been a highlight of our club,” the spokesperson said.
Looking ahead to the next 20 years and beyond, the club will aim to provide their players with every pathway possible, whether that be in search of an elite football career or continuing to enjoy the beautiful game at the community level.
“We’ve always got a lot of players that are going to the next level, if that is their wish.”
“Though at the same time, we always have a great social environment that encourages the players that aren’t looking for anything other than playing park football,” the spokesperson said.
